Sometimes our success stories seem unplanned. Entrepreneur, bestselling author, speaker, and consultant Dr. Sidjae Price can attest to this as it happened with her company Priceless Publishing. It all started when she gained the desire to write a book, which prompted her to take a course on how to publish it.
“Part of the course was an assignment to get a beta tester—to publish their book,” the Chasing Rainbows author tells SBC. “I got a beta tester, published her book, and from there someone saw her book, they want to do it. And I was like, I’ll do it just because it’s a nice thing to do. And someone else would come from that book, and it’s been that same cycle of someone sees a book, ‘Oh, who did it? That looks nice.’ ‘Send that person.’”
That was back in late 2018. Price has since helped more than seventy-five individuals fulfill their dreams of becoming published authors. More than half of the company‘s releases have made the bestsellers’ list on the likes of Amazon. She aspires to publish books that make the New York Times bestseller’s list.
Price’s other business ventures include the parent company Priceless Planning, an agency that assists corporate companies and government agencies in combating problems in leadership/management; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI); and strategic planning, etc.
Additionally, she is the founder of Speak Loud Incorporated, a nonprofit organization that aids in the betterment of at-risk youth by providing programs that target literacy, college readiness, entrepreneurship, and mentorship.
As a busy person, what are Price’s thoughts on #TeamNoSleep and #WorkHardPlayLater?
“Team definitely sleep,” she replies. “”Cause I’m going to sleep. I am going to get my rest. Without my rest, I cannot function, I find myself having anxiety. Team no sleep is not for me at all. You definitely have to throw some play in there…I think that is why so many are suffering mentally because society has allowed us to put so much strain on ourselves to be the best of this and the best of that.”
