Throughout his career that spans more than five decades, Mr. Angelo Ellerbee has championed the careers of many of the world’s biggest starts from late greats James Mtume, DMX, and Michael Jackson to Lionel Richie, Melba Moore, Alicia Keys, and Dionne Warwick, just to name a few. The Double Xxposure Media Relations founder and CEO does the same to this day with emerging talent as well. This August, he will release his new and what he says is his last book, Before I Let You Go (Hov Publishing), with writer Kevin E. Taylor, which aims to empower both the young and old.

In the excerpt below, the former fashion industry professional dishes on adapting his book for BET, in which he will executive produce a series.

As for what is next for the public relations maven and four-time author, Ellerbee is reinventing himself and then some. “I’m not discontinuing Double Xxposure,” he says. “I’m adding on to Double Xxposure, but this time I’m going to really spin the wheels for Angelo Ellerbee at this point. I just want to get out there and fulfill my desires as a film director, as a person that will oversee, supervise, and/or manage a production company. That’s what I’ve always wanted to do.”
