The Daily Show host, comedian, and author Trevor Noah‘s blockbuster autobiography, Born a Crime: Stories from an African Childhood, is becoming a film. Noah will co-produce his biopic through his production company, along with Norman Aladjem of Mainstay Entertainment, Derek Van Pelt, Sanaz Yamin and actress, Lupita Nyong’o. Nyong’o will portray Noah’s mother and hero, Patricia.
Born a Crime was published in November 2016 by Spiegel & Grau, a Random House imprint. The imprint will publish Noah’s follow-up memoir next November.
Nyong’o, who stars in the newly record-breaking Marvel film, Black Panther, is slated to release a book of her own next January with Simon and Schuster Books for Young Readers.
