For nearly six decades, Tony award winner, Broadway legend, actress and music icon Melba Moore has done just about everything in entertainment. She continues to embrace new beginnings. Her contemporary album due this fall will be released through her family record label, The Gallery Entertainment, with her daughter and manager Charli Huggins at the helm. With the uplifting single, “Love Wins Every Time,” topping the UK Soul chart a month after its release, it now remains in the top five, proving a strong start to Moore’s new era.

“It’s a perfect combination of energies and experiences for me to be on my daughter’s label,” Moore tells So Booking Cool. “She’s my manager and my boss now, and I’m her experiment.”

The new album is also a family affair in more ways than one with contributions from father-and-daughter songwriting duo, Yasha A. Barjona, aka Rahni Song, and Chloe Barjona-Dunbar. The former is a longtime collaborator of Moore, who produced her previous album, Imagine, which released in 2022.

Collaboration suits Moore who values teamwork. “No matter how great you are, you need other people. And you don’t want to treat them any old kind of way, you want to respect them because you need them.”

The New York-born singer will be performing at two locations of the Blue Note nightclub this fall. First, in Los Angeles (September 4th and 5th), then New York City (November 7th and 8th). Her five-star Amazon-rated memoir, This Is It – Marvelous…And Getting Better was released last November. For more information, visit Moore’s official website.
